What is the CLT Net Salary Calculator?

Por Quorify EditorialAtualizado em

Quorify's CLT Net Salary Calculator helps you estimate how much hits your account at the end of the month after mandatory deductions — INSS (National Social Security Institute) and IRRF (Withholding Income Tax) — using the official 2026 tables as a base. The calculation runs locally in your browser, which means the mathematical processing of the values you enter happens on your own device. The tool displays a detailed calculation breakdown, with each deduction itemized, ideal for checking your payslip or preparing for a salary negotiation based on real numbers. It supports additions (commissions, bonuses, hazard pay, unhealthy work conditions pay), extra deductions (transportation voucher, health insurance, alimony), and displays FGTS as an informational reference. Part of Quorify's financial toolkit: combine it with the CLT Severance Calculator to simulate contract termination, with Simples Nacional to compare CLT versus independent contractor status, or with the Macro Calculator to complete your monthly planning cycle. Values are estimates based on official tables — differences from your actual payslip may occur due to contract specifics. For details on data handling, see our Privacy Policy.

When to use

  1. Negotiate salary in interviews: have a reference for how much the requested gross tends to become in net before accepting the offer.

  2. Check your payslip: compare paycheck deductions with the current table — useful for identifying inconsistencies and opening a conversation with HR.

  3. Compare job offers: two similar gross amounts can yield very different net amounts (dependents, transportation voucher, commissions).

  4. Financial planning: estimate what's left for household budget, financing, or investment goals — combine with Quorify's Macro Calculator to complete your monthly routine.

  5. Switching employment status (CLT ↔ independent contractor): compare CLT net with revenue via Quorify's Simples Nacional to assess the transition with awareness.

How the calculation works

The calculation follows Brazilian legislation in effect for 2026. First, INSS is deducted from gross, using the progressive table (rates from 7.5% to 14%, with ceiling). Next, the IRRF base is defined: gross minus INSS minus dependent deduction (R$ 189.59 per dependent). The progressive IRRF table is applied to this base (rates from 0% to 27.5%, with amount to deduct). Additions are added on top of gross before deductions — they impact INSS and IRRF. Other deductions are subtracted from the final net. FGTS (8% of gross) is deposited by the employer in a separate account at Caixa: it doesn't come out of your salary, it appears as informational reference. For termination benefits (advance notice, severance penalty, proportional vacation), see Quorify's CLT Severance Calculator. The result represents an estimate based on these official rules.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the result an estimate?
Yes. The calculation follows the official INSS and IRRF tables in effect for 2026 and considers only the fields you enter. Differences from your actual payslip may come from contract-specific items: meal voucher (collective bargaining agreement), union dues, dental plan, social security dependents different from IRRF dependents, or adjustments from previous months. Always use the result as an initial reference and check with HR or an accountant for complex cases.
Is my data stored anywhere?
The calculation of the values you enter runs locally in your browser (client-side). This means the mathematical processing happens on your own device. After loading the page, you can continue using the tool offline. For the complete breakdown of data handling — including cookies, paid plan authentication, and analytics — see our Privacy Policy.
How do I count dependents for IRRF?
For IRRF, the following count as dependents: children up to 21 years old (or 24 if attending higher education), spouse, parents/grandparents with income below the exempt threshold, among other specific cases. Each dependent reduces the IRRF calculation base by R$ 189.59. Check the complete rule with your accountant for your specific case.
FGTS appears as a deduction, but isn't it not deducted from my salary?
Correct. FGTS (8% of gross) is deposited by the employer in a separate account at Caixa Econômica, in the employee's name. It doesn't come out of your net pay. We show this value in the calculation breakdown only as information — so you know how much is accumulating.
Is it worth switching from CLT to independent contractor to receive more net?
It depends. As an independent contractor you have more tax flexibility (Simples Nacional, MEI) but you lose benefits like FGTS, 13th salary, paid vacation, automatic INSS, and unemployment insurance. Combine this calculator with Quorify's Simples Nacional Calculator to compare net amounts side by side and factor in the value of those benefits in your final decision.
Why does the INSS rate change based on salary?
The INSS table is progressive by brackets: each portion of the salary falls into a different rate (7.5%, 9%, 12%, 14%). There is also a ceiling — salaries above R$ 7,786.02 (2026 reference) are only taxed up to that amount.
